Our Board & Train programs provide focused, professional training in a structured home environment. With a limited number of dogs at a time, each dog receives individualized training, daily structure, appropriate exercise, and plenty of time to rest and decompress.
Training is practical and tailored to the dog in front of us. We focus on the skills that make everyday life easier—leash manners, recall, place training, calm behavior in the home, reliable obedience, and appropriate behavior out in the real world.
For dogs needing additional help, our longer program allows more time to address leash reactivity, over-arousal, and other behavioral challenges through clear communication, thoughtful exposure, and consistent structure.
Most importantly, we don’t just train your dog. At pick-up, we’ll teach you how to understand and maintain the training so you can confidently continue the work at home.
**NOTE: We DO NOT accept dogs displaying human or dog directed aggression OR separation anxiety into our board and train programs.
Our Two-Week Board & Train program is designed for dogs who need better obedience, calmer house manners, and improved leash skills. The focus is on creating clear communication, practical obedience, and skills that carry over into everyday life.
Your dog will have multiple training sessions throughout each day, beginning with their breakfast meal. But training isn’t limited to formal sessions. Every interaction is an opportunity to reinforce good behavior—from calmly coming out of the crate for a potty break to settling quietly in the house afterward.
As your dog progresses, we take their training on the road. Dogs receive regular walks and training outings in different environments, which may include neighborhoods, downtown areas, fields, trails, parks, and dog-friendly businesses.
A major focus is developing environmental neutrality. Your dog learns that they don’t need to react to or engage with everything around them. Instead, we teach them to remain calm, responsive, and connected to their handler around dogs, people, traffic, wildlife, and other everyday distractions.
Physical exercise and enrichment are balanced with training and rest based on each dog’s individual needs. This may include structured walks, play, field time, and our canine treadmill.
The goal isn’t simply a dog who can perform obedience exercises. It’s a dog who understands how to use those skills in everyday life.
Better obedience, clearer communication, appropriate boundaries, and calmer behavior give you the tools to enjoy more freedom and a better relationship with your dog.
This program will give your young dog or puppy proper socialization and jumpstart skills such as “place”, coming when called, leash manners, and calm house behavior. This program can be flexible and can be customized to help with other problem behaviors such as house breaking, jumping, nuisance barking, etc. Please contact us for more information.
Yes. We will travel within a 30 mile radius of our Brunswick studio to pick up or drop off your dog. There is a $50 fee for this service.
Indoors in a crate or kennel. ALL dogs MUST be comfortable in a crate!
Our Board & Train programs are for any dog that needs basic training. Currently, we do not accept dogs displaying any type of human directed aggression or separation anxiety. However, we are happy to help with these types of issues in private lessons. All Board & Train prospects MUST be comfortable being in a crate, and adult dogs must also be housebroken. Bitches in active heat will not be accepted.

This program is for dogs who need more than basic obedience and would benefit from additional time building calm, reliable behavior in everyday situations.
We focus on better manners in the home and on leash, impulse control, confidence, and environmental neutrality. Your dog will practice staying calm when guests arrive, settling in public places, walking politely on leash, and moving past dogs, people, traffic, and other distractions without feeling the need to react or engage.
For dogs struggling with mild leash reactivity, the additional time allows us to work thoughtfully around triggers while teaching your dog how to remain responsive to their handler and make better choices.
Your dog will also be conditioned to the Mini Educator e-collar as a communication tool to improve reliability and reinforce skills as we transition from controlled training to real-world environments.

For dogs 5 months and older who need additional support with behavioral challenges such as leash reactivity, impulse control, resource guarding, chasing, and general over-arousal. This program provides additional time and structure to build calmer responses, better decision-making, environmental neutrality, and more reliable communication with their owner.

This program includes everything covered in the three-week Basic Obedience program. In addition, the Advanced Obedience program includes off-leash recall that has been proofed with other dogs, in the woods and fields. Alternatively, the Advanced Obedience program can be crafted to help dogs that have more severe leash reactivity (to be determined by your trainer). All dogs will be conditioned to an e-collar (Mini Educator) for reliability.
